Tennisspeak - During their amicable practise sessions, Novak Djokovic claims his seven-year-old Stefan tries to "intimidate" him by hitting the forehand like his archrival Rafael Nadal.
Stefan joined his world famous father on the
practise courts at Wimbledon this year, and his follow-through has a striking
resemblance to that of Nadal.
"He enjoys doing that." "He loves to terrify me on the court with finishing the swing here," the 20-time Grand Slam winner said after defeating Dutchman Tim van Rijthoven 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 in a third round encounter on Sunday.
"He knows how much I dislike that." I'm teaching him to finish the hand here, the swing, over his shoulder. He does that, but he also does this.
"He always laughs because he knows when he does that." We have this kind of funny moments on the court.”

Djokovic stated that while he was pleased that the son was showing an interest in the game, he wanted him to prioritise his development as a child.

"Right now, he's completely immersed in tennis." "He's watching and evaluating everything surrounding tennis, how he can play," the Serb remarked.
"Last night, as I was putting him to bed, he was asking me questions like, what is the difference between the racquet head sizes, the strings, why someone is stringing less tension, all of these basic inquiries that kids have."
"Right now, he's madly in love with tennis." It was entirely his wish to pursue tennis. I never force him to be on the tennis court, but if he wants, I always try to make myself available to play with him.

"Of course, I will assist him in any way I can so that he might become a professional tennis player if he so desires."
"But, to be honest, it's too soon to
talk about it." He's only eight years old. It's vital to me that we have a
bond as a father and son first and foremost, and that he enjoys life and has
fun."
