Querrey vs. Filip Krajinovic 6/16/22 Queen’s Club Tennis Picks, Predictions,

Sam Querrey will meet Filip
Krajinovic in the Round of 16 at the 2022 Queen’s Club Championships. The match
will be played on Thursday June 16th, 2022 at 11:00am EST. Filip Krajinovic is
ranked #48 in the world and is playing in the Queen's Club Championships as an
unseeded player. The Serbian has a horrible track record on grass, and hasn't
won a match at Wimbledon since 2012. His first grass competition of the season,
Queen's, saw him defeat Jenson Brooksby 6-4, 6-3 in the first round. During that
match, Krajinovic returned exceptionally well, something he'll need to do even
better against Sam Querrey's massive serving. He isn't a natural on grass, but
he has a terrific all-around game, is at ease at the net, and has a good slice.
The huge American may be troubled by his versatility, but he will most
certainly struggle with the situation.
Sam Querrey is a former Wimbledon Semi-Finalist who has a stellar grass court record. With a large serve with a lot of variety, a solid slice, and big groundstrokes, he possesses a game that is made for this surface. While he was once a top-20 player, he has fallen out of favour in recent years owing to injuries and a lack of form. He'll undoubtedly be trying to gain confidence ahead of Wimbledon, when he'll almost certainly have to qualify. After advancing through the Qualifying Rounds at Queen's, he was able to overcome world number 16 Diego Schwartzman, a victory that may appear surprising on paper but was actually predicted given their previous matches. As always, he will be heavily reliant on his serve and on this surface, once that is working he should be considered the big favorite due to his pedigree on the grass.
Despite the vast difference in their rankings, I believe Sam
Querrey will prevail. This is a surface that the Americans adore, and they have
a lot of firepower. Filip Krajinovic is a talented player, but he has struggled
recently, and this is by far his least preferred surface. Querrey will bludgeon
his way to a straight-sets victory, earning his position in a rare ATP
Quarter-Final at the Queen's Club Championships.
