WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Ana Bogdan of Romania defeated Spain's seventh-seeded Nuria Parrizas Diaz 6-4, 7-6 (3) on Tuesday to advance to the second round of the Poland Open.
At the clay-court tournament in Poland's capital, only three singles matches were completed, with three more suspended due to rain.
The tenth-seeded Italian Jasmine Paolini defeated Montenegro's Danka Kovinic 6-1, 6-1, while France's Clara Burel advanced by defeating Slovakia's Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 7-6 (5), 6-1.
Defending champion Maryna Zanevska of Belgium was trailing lucky loser Kateryna Baindl of Ukraine 6-3, 3-1 when their match was called off.
Coco Gauff's signature tennis shoe is exclusively for women.
When tennis star Coco Gauff took the court for an exhibition match in Atlanta over the weekend, she wore a sneaker that put her in a class by itself.

Gauff debuted her first signature shoe with the company that signed her when she was 14 years old, the Coco CG1, with the debut of a bright purple, pink, and orange pair of New Balances.
"From design to marketing, the entire New Balance team truly cares about me as a person, not just an athlete," Gauff said in a statement. "And it was because of that relationship that we were able to create the Coco CG1."

The shoes will be available for purchase on August 26 for $170, with two colorways, dubbed "Pompey" and "DigiCoco," officially confirmed by New Balance. The "Pompey" pair has a gradient fade along the collar and is inspired by the Pompey Park tennis courts in Gauff's hometown of Delray Beach, Florida, where her father, Corey, first taught her the game when she was a child.
On the right toe of the shoe is her father's mantra, "You can change the world with your racket." The coordinates of Pompey Park are placed along the rubber by the left toe.
The design features her signature on the tongue and the gold-colored collar-lacing eyelet, as well as a cross-training-informed mid-cut height and a mix of materials throughout.
New Balance Shoes
"The Coco CG1 is a vintage-looking shoe with a modern twist," she said of the design inspiration from the 1990s. "I can't wait to see how people style it once it's in stores!"
Longtime tennis icon Serena Williams has launched signature collections with Nike and Puma in the past, but Gauff is the only current tennis player to release a current signature design.
Only ten WNBA players have their own signature shoe, with Seattle Storm forward Breanna Stewart recently debuting her Puma Stewie 1s during All-Star Weekend in Chicago, the first women's signature basketball shoe in a decade.
Gauff joins a select group of New Balance endorsers who have their own signature shoes, including track and field star Sydney McLaughlin and softball standout Sierra Romero.
"At such a young age, I signed with New Balance," Gauff explained. "And I am overjoyed to know that I will be working with them for a long time to come."
